A little about myself...
My name is Amy. I grew up in a small town that absolutely no one outside of the area could pronounce, let alone spell. When I moved to Huntington, I had to use my GPS for a solid month because the old "turn left by Mrs. Smith's house then right at the red barn" trick doesn't work too well in a city. However, I have to admit that I appreciate not getting snowed in for sometimes weeks at a time anymore.
I try to enjoy the smaller things in life as much as possible, even if it's just waking up a few minutes early to catch the first rays of sun at dawn or slowing down for a few seconds to take in everything around me. I live for small coffee shops, DIY projects, good music, books, and bad jokes.
I have a passion for passion, and by that I mean that I wholeheartedly believe in finding the things you care most about because these things will make you happiest in all aspects of your life. I tend to think of it as a great and endless scavenger hunt.
Another passion of mine is education. I was always that nerd that loved school, so much so that I have chosen to focus my career on the education of others. Seeing people you care about and are invested in succeed is one of life's most rewarding things. I was fortunate enough to attend both elementary and high schools where the teachers valued each student just the same. Because of this, I am currently an undergrad at Marshall University majoring in Secondary Education - Chemistry.
Chemistry is one of those things that you either love or hate, and I just so happen to love it. I guess I'm mostly fascinated by the aspect of knowing not only *how* something works, but also *why* it does what it does. Although chemistry is typically practiced and studied on very small scales, it is very much so a part of the big picture. I love that it comes together like a puzzle. Or as The Lion King would say "It's the circle of life."
Happy reading and I hope you enjoy! :)
